HI Hyannis

I had a great time here and met some nice people. If I spot a HI hostel while traveling in the US, I tend to trust it, and that’s always worked out for me so far. This one was clean, cozy, welcoming, and well located, with friendly, helpful staff. It’s a three-story house, with reception, a lobby, kitchen, and restrooms downstairs and beds on the second floor. Everything felt organized. I’d come back if I’m in Hyannis again. My one suggestion would be more room for personal belongings.

The rooms looked lovely, and the place was clean and well situated. Staff were really friendly, too. My only gripe was there weren't lockers or another secure spot for our things.

The living room and enclosed porch had wonderful harbor views, and there were plenty of comfortable places to sit, eat, or chat. We were there with three family members from June 27 to 30, 2024, and the whole stay was a pleasure. The furnishings were nice, the place was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had what we needed to make meals. Guests labeled their own food and kept it on the shelves or in the fridge, and sharing the kitchen worked well. There were also quiet little corners for working on a laptop or talking with a couple of people. Each of the three staff members on duty was welcoming and helpful, answered our questions, and made sure we had what we needed. Being within walking distance of the Hyannis Transportation Center was another plus. Thanks to everyone for making it a special family memory.

The one downside was Hyannis itself, which felt rather average and overpriced. The hostel, though, was spotless and a good value, with comfortable dorm beds, nice sheets, and free towels. There are large private washrooms, free Wi-Fi, a pleasant lounge, and a communal kitchen with plenty of cooking space and food storage. They also put out a light breakfast of belVita biscuits and coffee. Its location is convenient for catching Cape Cod ferries.
