We cut our New Year visit to Broken Bow short and headed home a day early because the room made the trip so disappointing. We’d booked two nights and three days, but the room wasn’t close to the quality we expected for what we paid. The beds were a problem for the whole family. We reserved two queens, but these looked more like full-size beds, and one mattress was so worn that it sank almost a foot when my child sat down. Breakfast was limited and unappealing, with juice the only decent choice. The AC also made a loud, constant racket all night and didn’t work right. After a long day of travel we were too tired to go downstairs and ask to switch rooms, but it was hard to rest. We’d hoped for a better family New Year stay, and I hope management takes this seriously and improves the rooms and basic amenities.

We came here after we couldn’t find a hotel in Broken Bow. It was a quiet, pleasant place, but for this small town we thought the price was a little steep at $130. Breakfast was very basic and could use more choices, like hash browns. The coffee tasted like water, which is a pretty low bar to miss when you’re paying that much.

At 8:15 there was already no food, even though breakfast was meant to run until 9. When I asked, I got excuses that they were busy, and they were cleaning instead of making more. The Front Desk person didn’t seem to care and just repeated that they were busy. She said management wasn’t there when I asked, and wouldn’t do anything. I could hear the front desk and kitchen worker complaining about my request for food.

The beds were comfortable, but I left exhausted after housekeeping woke me early in the adjoining room. There was loud radio or phone noise at full volume, doors slamming, and a mattress being flipped at least 50 times. It shook my room’s walls while they cleaned next door. I don’t see much point in the “do not disturb” tags if staff make that much noise around the hotel. For over $100 a night, I feel like I should be able to sleep peacefully through the morning until I’m ready to get up for checkout.
