Comfort Suites Idaho Falls

Being right across from the Idaho Falls / Snake River was our favorite part. Our four little boys loved walking the path around the Falls and playing on the big lava rocks, and shops and restaurants are close enough to walk to. It’s also handy for getting back on the highway. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast was the usual included hotel spread. My family of six stayed two nights, and my husband and I also stayed here to break up a road trip to Montana. I don’t understand the 3.5 average, we loved it and will come back.

The fallside location is ideal for staying downtown, and the rooms are a nice size and seem updated. But the balcony was so gross we didn’t want to sit out there: bird poop on the floor, spiderwebs, and feathers or other animal hair on the chairs. It spoiled the view of the Falls and our plan to watch the sunset outside. Also, don’t be fooled by the huge Quality Inn sign on the building, this is the Comfort Suites. We drove past it twice. The staff were friendly enough, and the free breakfast was okay.

Everything we needed, including restaurants, shops, and events, was an easy walk away, and the room rate was reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I slept well with very little noise. It’s an older place, probably from the 1960s, but it’s been maintained well for its age. I’d definitely stay again.

Amanda was running the front desk when my husband and I checked in for the night, and she made us feel welcome right away. We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always a nice place. I’d recommend getting a room facing the Falls, you won’t be disappointed.
