The woman working there was incredibly accommodating and gave us excellent customer service. She refunded us right away the next day. But the room was completely unacceptable, so we left immediately. We didn't get checked in until 2 am, and then had a two-hour drive home, which made leaving a huge inconvenience. We'd been told they took $30 off because they'd found water damage before we arrived and hadn't patched the ceiling yet. No one told us raw sewage would leak into the room. We heard a neighbor flush, and water immediately poured through the ceiling. The toilet was leaking across the floor too, and there was a strange stain on the ceiling that looked like blood. The room smelled rancid when we walked in. We found rotten hamburger patties under both mattresses, the sheets didn't smell clean, and the bathroom was dirty. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

I only lasted 20 minutes in the room before deciding to leave. I asked for a refund, but they refused, saying they couldn't rent it to anyone else because it was checked out to me until the next day. The place wasn't anywhere near full, so they could have refunded my cash. They offered a different room, but I was too grossed out to find out whether the bed bugs people mentioned in other reviews were under control. I cut my losses and left. My clothes smelled like cigarettes until I could shower somewhere else, just from those 20 minutes. I'd picked this Motel 6 because most other places nearby were either full or outrageously priced. I hadn't read the reviews, and the 3.6 star rating seemed fine based on other hotels I'd stayed in. The lobby made me question how clean it was, but it was late, so I took a room anyway. The card machine was down, so I paid cash. The room reeked of stale cigarettes, the blankets were stained, the mattress was lumpy, and the place really wasn't clean. It also felt creepy, and I was uncomfortable. The family who runs the motel seemed nice, and they live there, so I do feel bad for them. But I can't recommend staying here. It's not up to a standard where rooms should be rented out.

The only person who helped us was Zack, who brought us a TV because our room was missing one. We reported the problems but management never responded. The room had burn holes in the bedding and stains all over the walls. It wasn't prepared, and some rooms were missing items like a TV. Our end room had no hot water, and there was noise from the housekeeping tenant all night. At 10 pm, people were using drugs right outside our window where anyone could see. On Saturday at noon, check-in took over an hour because there was no staff available. They were sleeping. Do not stay here, it's not worth risking your health.

My wife and I had to cancel the weekend we'd been looking forward to for months. We were already driving to the US border from Canada when an employee called, just four hours before check-in, to say our reservation had been cancelled because of renovations. They'd forgotten to tell us earlier. We'd booked two months ago. Other comments mentioned renovations going on for 2-3 months, so this wasn't some sudden leak or fire. How do you forget to call customers? The employee on the phone was unhelpful, couldn't offer another room or solution, and didn't really apologize. With all the rooms under $200 a night already booked in the area, we had no choice but to cancel our plans. This was unacceptable. Never again.
