The bed looked nice but was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were too, though I know pillows are a matter of preference. The layout felt a bit disjointed, and arriving at night, we couldn't find a light switch. There weren't any, so we had to turn the main room lamps on manually. No air conditioning, and the box fan worked well but was loud enough to hurt my sleep. The bathroom fan didn't work either, and its counter was so short that, at 6 feet, I had to bend in half to use the sink. Parkside was clean and cozy, and one of the few places with rooms left over a busy Labor Day weekend. The staff were friendly, check-in was easy, parking was easy, and it's clear they'd put a lot of work into the property recently. The stay was decent, but I expected more for the price.

We left in physical pain from the bed. The beds were terrible, and the pillows were awful, so a comfortable night's sleep just didn't happen. The room had only one sitting chair, a small, awkward bathroom, very basic amenities, and everything felt dated. No maid service, either. There was no air conditioning, and the room stayed stuffy even with cooler weather outside unless we used the provided fan, which sounded like a plane about to take off. It felt awful to pay so much for such a bad stay. The people at the front desk were nice, though some seemed quite challenged when it came to actually helping. The rooms seemed clean. I would've given feedback in person, but nobody asked how the stay was when we checked out. I think they already know. :(

We had access to a super clean beach, and the location was great. The room felt welcoming and clean, and the Keurig machine was my favorite part! No AC, but they had a fan that worked perfectly for us. Thanks for making our first time in Tahoe amazing!

The bed was probably the worst I've ever slept on. Every time I moved, the frame sounded as if it was about to fall apart, and I had the worst three nights of sleep I've ever had on a trip. There were stains on the sheets, and the towels and pillows smelled extremely weird. The room smelled like sweaty gentiles and hair gel. No AC or microwave. These rooms should cost about $50 a night, and that's being nice. I definitely won't stay here again. I guess that's what you get from a 2-star hotel.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, though a little cramped, with narrow walkways by the bed and desk. The bathroom was small, had weak lighting, a single sink, and no towel rack, even though there was room on the nearby wall. They offered morning coffee, which was nice, but a continental breakfast would help since there's nothing within walking distance to eat. We stayed three nights on a road trip. It seemed like a family-run property, and they initially put us in the wrong room, so we had to trek across the property to begin our stay. When we called about the TV guide, we were told that if it wasn't on the desk, they didn't have one. I find it hard to believe there wasn't a master copy somewhere, and we ended up spinning through 50 channels repeatedly. They promptly fixed a doorknob issue, but I didn't think it was appropriate for the maintenance person to be in our room with us without a mask. The stay was fine, but these small, fixable issues added up to the rating.
