Beach House Motel

We drove 19 hours and got here at 1 a.m. with my mom and my 8-year-old twin brothers, only to be turned away by a very rude woman at the front desk. We won't stay here again. I had been here in February with my boyfriend for a week, and we got along great with the very nice owner. He'd come talk with us on the back deck. We're from Pennsylvania, he's from New York, and we told him we couldn't wait to return. We'd even planned to talk to him about renting the whole hotel for 4-5 days for our February wedding, after my boyfriend gets back from the Marines. Instead, we're staying somewhere else in Melbourne through Monday, another week, and our family flying in Wednesday will have to find somewhere else to book three rooms for a week.

It wasn't fancy and needed some work, and the owners wanted to move us from room to room, but we loved the place. We'd stayed at this little motel about 10 years ago on our first trip to Florida and fell for its quaint feel. We worried someone would sell it and put up a high-rise or condos. I think it has new owners now, though I'm not sure. Either way, I can't wait to visit again.

Our family adores this place. It's our favorite spot for fun, happiness, and relaxing, and we highly recommend it if you're a down-to-earth person. The staff are the sweetest and most helpful, and make you feel even more at home than at home. It's quiet and safe, with convenient parking and reasonable rates. You can practically throw a rock from the balcony into the ocean. Great restaurants, stores, banks, and a grocery store are within walking distance. There's a nice grilling area with a tidy grill, plus a kids' playground and volleyball net nearby.

We've been here three times and haven't been disappointed once. The owners and operators are fantastic, and the place is clean and super friendly, even if it's not fancy. That view is incredible. I'd set an alarm every morning just to take my coffee out to the balcony and watch the sunrise.
