A man I couldn't identify knocked, waited just a second, unlocked the door, and walked into our room while I was on the bed naked with my 1-year-old. That was terrifying and unacceptable. The room itself was a mess of problems: the bed creaked with every movement and was pretty hard, the heat didn't work, and the A/C switched on and off every five minutes. The air was so dry that my family and I developed a dry cough and fever. The shower was apparently the only source of heat, so staying warm meant showering constantly. There was no hot water in the morning, so a shower meant waiting until late at night. The breakfast station had only coffee, no food, and the water felt like it had been used by other rooms. I developed a rash on my face from the water alone. Cable was available, but only about six of more than 1,000 channels worked, with no Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, or Cartoon Network. I stayed for two days, and it was the worst decision ever. It feels like the money goes to employee pay instead of the property. It should be 50/50, not 5/95.

Everything was clean, the people were really nice, and I slept well because it was quiet. The price was great too, hard to find rates like this now.

Ms.May is the sweetest innkeeper, and the rooms are clean, roomy, and a good price. There aren't many amenities, but I got a good night's sleep. A real diamond in the rough if you're around southern Maryland. 4/5.

I spent 10 days there and the elevator was out the entire time. I never saw anyone come to get it working. The non-smoking rooms smelled strongly of smoke as soon as you walked in, and it wasn't just cigarettes. On top of that, a neighbor's dog barked late into the night, and on several nights people were going in and out of rooms and shouting in the hall. Not a good place to stay.

The room looked nice and was okay, but the bed was uncomfortable and things weren't very clean. There was a drip in the shower tub that rinsed away once the shower was running, and a booger on the bathroom wall. The supposedly non-smoking floor reeked of weed in the hallway. The location suited my needs, though there's not much to do nearby. I got what I paid for, but it wasn't glamorous.
