I’ve been coming here since Seacrest was first built, and the beach access rules have become disappointing. I understand wanting people to respect the property and keep things quiet, but calling the concrete beach path a “greenway” and banning wheeled beach carts from the beach access people paid for goes too far. Seacrest guests are getting harassed over this. The guards should be allowed to use judgment, but either they can’t or they can’t tell an adult and his daughter with a beach cart from a kid on a skateboard. I suggest giving the security team discretion instead of requiring them to apply every rule to the letter. It wasn’t like this in the past.

I’m a local resident, and I shouldn’t feel unsafe approaching my own beach access. On February 17, 2019, Sunset Beach Association’s security officer harassed and threatened me so badly that I feared for my safety and called the Walton County Sherif. The deputies had to separate us and apologized on behalf of Sunset beach security. When I called Lance Security, which is employed by Sunset Beach, he dismissed me and told me not to use MY DEDICATED access. Neither he nor the association ever apologized. Instead, they ignored me and told me to go elsewhere. Where’s the kindness and respect? This is my designated access, and I won’t be bullied into moving my life. DO NOT MOVE OR STAY IN SUNSET OR SEACREST BEACH! The hassle isn’t worth it, and there are friendlier, more respectful places to stay.

The pool and its restrooms were clean. The community pool is pretty small, though, and there’s nowhere shaded.
