Hampton Inn Martinsburg South-Inwood

After more than 11 years working in hospitality on South Beach, I know good service when I experience it. Kelsey and Jennifer have both been warm, attentive, courteous, and accommodating, and it’s lovely that Jens always seems to have a smile. I’d definitely come back when it’s time for training next year.

The front desk staff were nice, but the state of the room ruined my stay. The lobby renovations didn’t bother me, and I hope the work will eventually include these old rooms. For now, I’d look elsewhere in the area. The carpet was filthy, with dark stains everywhere, like it had absorbed years of spills, sweat, dirt, and juice that vacuuming couldn’t hide. The walls felt dirty and sticky, and a dusty, musty smell seemed to cling to everything, from the linens to the HVAC. I don’t understand the glowing reviews.

The room and the rest of the property were very clean. I enjoyed the service, and all the staff were friendly and accommodating.

The only little drawback was the refrigerator, which made some noise as it switched on and off. Otherwise, the place was quiet, and the front desk person was pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was sparkling, better than one I got on a past trip to upstate New York when I paid nearly twice as much. The bed and pillows had Hampton’s usual crisp, white, clean feel, and there was a fridge and microwave. Good value for the price. Great job, cleaning person!
