I booked one night for a weekend away, then decided a few days before that I wanted to stay another night. The hotel messaged me to say I could make a separate reservation and they'd keep me in the same room, so I wouldn't have to check out. They did exactly that. The room was clean and spacious, and I liked having a kitchenette. Downstairs, there's a lobby with a range of seating and a bar, plus a happy hour menu. They also have complimentary breakfast, and it seemed popular. There's a small gym open around the clock and a pool. At $28 per night, parking didn't bother me since everything is so central. I also appreciated how quiet it was in the morning. I didn't hear the usual vacuuming or room-cleaning commotion that can make it hard to sleep. You need your room key to enter the main entrance at night, which is a nice security touch. Everything about the stay was great, and I'd definitely return.

The area was quiet and parking was close by, though it costs $25 a day and there isn't much within walking distance. Our room was clean but felt a bit worn. The shower pressure was weak, and the beds weren't very comfortable, with the middle starting to sag. Breakfast was okay. I'd stay here again if I was in the area.

Kerry set me up on a high floor in a quiet room with an open view, and made sure the things I needed were already there before I checked in. That meant I didn't have to be around others after arriving. They also accept packages for guests, and I didn't hear airplane noise in the room, day or night. My stay for an academic visit was pleasant, thanks in large part to Kerry. Booking a nonrefundable stay made me nervous, and I hope Hyatt House generally won't require that. Compared with other Hyatt House or Hyatt hotels, this one didn't give me water bottles for the days I hadn't received them before or afterward. Parking is also $25 per night. I hope they keep serving people with pain well and that the business does well.

A heads-up if you're celebrating something: this Hyatt House doesn't allow birthday candles anywhere on the property, even in the lobby or sitting and dining areas. They also won't provide matches or lighters, including for outdoor use. We thought we'd cut our cake back at the hotel after dinner, but ended up stranded. After driving to a convenience store for a match, we cut it in the rain in a parking lot.

A third-party booking problem left my reservation missing from Hyatt's system, even though it wasn't the hotel's mistake. Bruce and Titania were patient and went out of their way to sort it out, coordinating with the booking site so I could get a refund while still keeping my original rate directly with the hotel. We waited 45 minutes, and they made up for that with a room upgrade and free parking. They were also thoughtful with my three-year-old daughter and let her choose some toys to keep her happy while we waited. They turned a stressful mix-up into a great stay.
