We stayed Monday and Tuesday nights without any problems. The rooms were clean, the staff were all really kind, and the beach was a quick walk away. Most rooms don't look straight out to the beach, but head down the hall and there's a beautiful view. We'd definitely stay again. :)

The location, right by the beach, is great, but I'd spend my money at another hotel. I paid a little over $400 per night and expected basic cleanliness and a room that was properly maintained, even knowing this is a 3-star hotel. I was extremely disappointed. When we first walked into our room at Seaside Inn, there was a bad smell. The room was very run down. There were holes in the bathroom walls where old fixtures had been, and while the shower itself didn't seem dirty, its tile was cracked and coming apart. The bathroom light switch was outside the bathroom, and the microwave didn't work. The worst part was under the beds. I moved one a little while looking for my shoe and found unswept sand and socks left by previous guests.
The crew were friendly, but we didn't get our money's worth. Prices aren't cheap, and they asked for $100 for early check-in. Next time we're in Isle of Palms, we'll look for somewhere else. The location is good, but the rooms are tiny and run down. They're called Deluxe, though they're really very basic. There was no microwave, table, or chair. Concerts next door made it very loud until at least 11pm, and there was noise for a few hours in the afternoon, too. If you want a quiet hotel, this isn't the place.
Jack at the front desk was wonderful, very kind and clearly tried hard to make guests happy. The automatic pancake machine was easily the newest and most impressive thing there. The location is on the water, though views from the rooms are limited. Beyond those three things, this place was incredibly underwhelming for the price per night. Our King Deluxe was just a dated motel room, with nowhere to sit except the bed or toilet. There was no chair or desk, the floor tiles were cracked and stained, and rust covered most metal surfaces. The property is badly dated and needs serious work. Parking was a joke. There are about 12 spaces at the property and THREE overflow lots. On two of our three nights, the nearest overflow lot was full too, because of bar patrons nearby.
The room was tiny, the old bed was lumpy, and the mattress pad hadn't been washed. At the back, the foot rinse hose didn't work. Breakfast was all cheap carbs, and I was very, very disappointed by the low standards for such high prices. At night a live band next door made it super loud. The balcony doors had been screwed shut, so we couldn't use the balcony. The lights that come on at night were obnoxiously bright, and the curtains and shutters didn't block them, so sleeping was out. Never again!
