Appeldoorn's Sunset Bay Resort

Cabin 5 was a great size, with plenty of sleeping options, room to spread out, and a cozy patio where we could have evening fires overlooking the lake. The kitchen worked well, though its pots and pans were basic, so next time we'll bring our camp set and things like foil and plastic wrap. The cabin had AC, but the nights were pleasant enough that we hardly needed it. We came midweek through the weekend in late September and early October after finding the place by chance, and had a great time. Our one complaint was Friday morning, when an employee drove an ATV up and down the beach to level the sand at 7:30. It felt inconsiderate to us and the people in nearby cabins.

The resort fee was the one downside, but we enjoyed our stay. The cabins were clean and smelled nice, and you can rent a golf cart. There’s a good range of comfort food, and the place has a relaxed feel. At night it’s peaceful. The beach is a nice size and clean, and the Wi-Fi is great. Our cabin also had a loaded smart TV. Staff were polite, helpful, and down to earth. The game room feels a bit dated, though, and there’s no change machine. A cute little resort with plenty of potential. Thanks for having us.

The cabin we had was pretty bare bones, so pack smart. The kitchen wasn't stocked well enough to cook a meal, and the bedrooms had neither proper window coverings nor bedside lamps. Still, I enjoyed the stay. The beach was great, and there seemed to be lots of activities for families with kids. It's a nice little resort with a good variety of cabins to choose from, and I'd recommend vacationing here.

The spacious, clean three-bedroom cabin and the resort itself were nice, with things to do. The dining was a different story. We waited over an hour for our food at either the patio or the breakfast cafe, and the service was very slow and poor. Tables around us had time to arrive and leave before our food came. Management didn't acknowledge the delay or explain the problems they were having, and we had to change our plans for the day. If someone had spoken with us about it, I wouldn't have felt compelled to leave this review.
