Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ithaca

We come back to this Marriott whenever something is happening in Ithaca, and this time we were here for the Deck the Halls wine tasting event. Stephen was wonderful during the day, greeting people with a smile, making eye contact, and checking that everyone felt welcome and comfortable. Tinsha and Shanel were just as warm and personable when we checked in, and really gave us that Marriott experience. The whole team keeps showing us what hospitality should feel like, which is why we return to Marriott properties. Highly recommend!

It’s in a really good location, and the rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast is simple but fine if you just want something light. I usually stay here when I visit, though the front desk can seem a bit confused. Maybe it’s because there’s a lot of staff turnover, since I never see the same people.

Fairfield Inn isn’t Marriott’s fanciest brand, but we still like it. The complimentary breakfast is always good, and so are the coffee and water available around the clock.

There’s a small shop for snacks and lots of outdoor parking, and it’s close to plenty of shops and restaurants on Ithaca’s south side. The rooms are clean, though service is limited and it can be hit or miss whether anyone is at the front desk. They charge $4 a day for “parking,” listed as a facility fee, which they don’t mention upfront. It’s not a huge amount, but for a Fairfield Inn in a small city it feels like nickel and diming customers.
