Square Rigger Lodge

The beach was easy to get to, and the scenery made our walks lovely. With restaurants and leisure activities nearby, getting around was convenient too. We stayed four days and three nights, and the room felt clean and fresh as soon as we walked in. Staff and fellow travelers were kind and greeted us with warm smiles. We’re certain we’ll choose this place again on our next visit to Door County.

This was our third stay, and the location on the lake is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We first found the place last fall, came back in the summer, and most recently visited to see the fall colors. The owners are welcoming, and the motel is clean and comfortable. There’s complimentary coffee in the office each morning, plus a coffee shop next door with delicious frittatas and sweet treats on weekends. Thanks for another great stay. We’ll be back next year! We’ve stayed at Square Rigger Lodge a couple of times, mainly for its location in the quieter part of DC. The staff are very friendly, and we had a beachside room with chairs outside where we enjoy watching the sun rise. There’s a coffee shop attached, though we haven’t eaten there. A coffee pot in the room would make mornings better for us early risers, since no coffee place opens before 7 am. Still a great place to stay.

Each room has a little patio, and there’s an ice machine on the first floor. The Lodge also has a great little coffee shop attached, with good coffee cocktails and a special small-plate dinner menu on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The hotel is cute and right on the lake, with a walkout to the beach for hours of strolling. Rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and there are plenty of good-smelling towels.
