Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jacksonville SE- Med Ctr Area by IHG

A maintenance manager had found my hat and told me the laundry had washed and dried it. I’m so grateful the staff took such care with something they found. I’ve had that hat for at least 15 years and love it. Kudos to everyone there. I’d gone for an early morning walk and dropped it in a stairwell on my way back. By the time I noticed it was missing, the stairs had been cleared. I checked at the front desk with no luck, then stopped by the laundry just in case.

Valentina at the front desk helped us decide where to spend the day. We were debating Jacksonville Beach versus St. Augustine, about an hour away, and she suggested St. Augustine. We went with her advice and were glad we did. The beach was lovely, and during the second week of January we also got to see the city’s night lights. It looked beautiful. Thanks to Valentina for the helpful suggestion and kind service.

I spent two nights here in June, and a strange phone call at around 2:00 a.m. left me seriously concerned about guest safety. The caller claimed to work at the front desk, said I had failed to provide a credit card at check-in, and threatened to have me removed unless I gave them the number right away. They knew my name and room number, and the call came through the room phone, so at first it seemed plausible. When I asked to meet them at the desk, they suddenly hung up. The next day, staff told me nobody from the hotel had called. They said other guests had received similar calls that night, too. Months later, the hotel still hadn't worked out how someone got access to its phone system or who made the calls. I don't feel this shows adequate security or protection for guests. Be cautious. I wouldn't consider this a safe place to stay, and I can't recommend it.

Valentina is the reason my husband and I keep choosing this hotel. We’ve stayed on weekends for the past six weeks, and she’s always greeted us with a big smile as we come in. She’s friendly, helpful, and ready to answer our questions or address concerns. She makes us feel welcome every time.
