I stayed for a while, and the treatment was still awful. I was lied to, treated like trash, and got horrible customer service. The owner claimed we hadn’t paid even though I had the receipts. There are bugs and drugs around the place, and the room service ladies are all on drugs. The people living there were terrible too. A long-term guest assaulted me, and management did nothing. Don’t waste your money here. It’s the worst place I’ve ever stayed.
After we finally cleaned and decorated the banquet room, the party looked beautiful, but it had to start late because of the mess. Then water poured through the roof over my sister’s table, even though it wasn’t raining. She asked the owner for a refund and was offered only $250. Earlier, we’d found broken tables and chairs with holes, and had to clean the floors ourselves. The vacuum they gave us didn’t work. The room smelled terrible, so after we complained, the manager gave my niece $5 for carpet freshener. Both bathrooms were out of order. The manager eventually called Rotor Rooter about the toilets, and we bought air freshener and candles to cover the smell. A guest was bitten by something, and the manager said it looked like fleas. This was for my sister’s birthday party on Saturday, September 1st. The workers all looked like addicts and said they lived there. It’s filthy and the worst place to book an event. I wouldn’t recommend it as a place for an animal to sleep.
The room had no air conditioning, no cable TV, and no water in the bathroom, so we couldn’t shower before heading to the Marine base. The TV cable was just lying on the floor without a connector. When we called the desk, they ignored us and said they couldn’t help. They wouldn’t move us unless we paid for another room, and the manager, who was supposed to call me, never did. We paid $55 and change for a night of hell. It was hotter than hell’s kitchen, and the music upstairs was so loud there was no chance of sleeping. There was trash all over the parking lot, like someone had emptied a car and left it there, and the pool looked full of scum. The staff were friendly at first, but this place is truly nasty. We drove nearly eight hours from Virginia to visit our son at Camp Lejeune on September 1st. I plan to visit him more often now that he has liberty more often, but I’ll never stay here again. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, and it should be closed for good.
At my aunt’s 60th birthday party, water leaked from the ceiling right above our table, and a flea bite made my foot swell up. The toilet wouldn’t flush either. The party itself was beautiful, but the management didn’t seem to care about its clients. Don’t book this place for any occasion or rent a room at this drug- and bug-infested motel. It should be shut down permanently. Board of Health, where are you?
By morning, the lobby had three trash cans stinking up the area, and I was still trying to get towels. The desk attendant on the new shift didn’t know whether I could get any. We found two loaves of bread and cereal that had gone soggy for breakfast. The night was awful: people roamed around, doors banged, people talked, and there was gunfire. The kids’ room was 88F at 1:30am, the TV kept cutting in and out with no channels, and there was no WiFi, so I couldn’t use the dish app on my iPad. In our room, the heat hit us as soon as we opened the door, along with mildew and stale smoke. A maintenance guy came and said he’d install a new air conditioner in ten minutes, but we ended up moving to another room across the building. That room was hot too, even with the unit running. The towels were badly stained, and there were only two small ones. When I went to get clean towels for the kids, I was told housekeeping wouldn’t be available until 9 or 9:30am. There was no phone in the room, and no coffee pot either. The hall had beer bottles and smelled of drugs. At check-in, I stood there while the two clerks argued loudly, with slurred speech and incoherent comments about the air conditioning. They said they had two rooms for me and my family and needed to move an air conditioner, even though it was 11:45pm, and they had already charged my card. I’d driven from Nashville, TN, been on the road about 16 miles, and was traveling with my 96-year-old mother, who needs her rest. Our reservation wasn’t confirmed until the next day, and every other place seemed booked. I’d stayed here, Enco lodge, a few years ago and it was okay, so I should have known better.
