Walking by the water is one of our favorite parts of staying here. It's peaceful and relaxing, and the location also makes it easy to get out into the city, with restaurants, shops, and places to explore just down the road. There's even a dinner boat nearby. The rooftop is especially beautiful, and it's exciting to see the renovations happening. We keep coming back in large part because of the service. When something comes up, the Front Desk Manager is the best person to contact. She handles things with care and professionalism and really wants to make them right. We love her, and my husband and kids enjoy staying here so much because of her. We've recommended the hotel to friends and family, and they've enjoyed it too. We're looking forward to seeing the renovations finished and the improvements continue. Thanks to the front desk staff, upper management, and everyone in their roles at the SouthBank Marriott. Keep up the great work.

The banquet food was good, and the staff were friendly. Beyond that, it was a poor stay. Construction was loud, the rooms were barely cleaned, if at all, the TV didn't work, and the fridge seemed close to giving out. I travel more than 80 nights a year for work, and my washcloths were visibly stained. Clean washcloths are the bare minimum at the rate you're charging. As I was leaving, I saw the GM smoking outside the hotel and then confronting a guest who was walking in. He asked if the guest was staying there. The guest said yes and showed proof, then called out the manager for profiling him. The GM replied, "I'm the general manager, knock it off before I throw you out." Even the valet looked shocked.

Parking took some figuring out. The pay scanner wouldn't accept my international phone number, but the front desk added the charge to my bill and gave me a pass for the car. I was only there one night and left early, and the renovations didn't get in our way. The hotel was nice, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and a great shower.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was pretty clean. You could tell remodeling was going on, but the front desk staff were lovely and the valets were a lot of fun to talk with. When I messed up my ticket, they helped me right away. The valet parked our car, and I could see it from the room by coincidence, which was pretty cool. I'll definitely stay again.

Our room was supposed to have a partial river view, but we mostly looked out onto a dirty roof with only a small glimpse of the river. The hotel is undergoing major construction, so it didn't look like the photos, and it fell short of the Marriott standard I expect. The room wasn't clean: the shower floor was dirty, there was dust on the light fixtures, and the bathroom door had dirty fingerprints. There was no hair dryer, and the desk light was broken. The elevator smelled like raw sewage, and the hallways looked worn down. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
