Americas Best Value Inn- Jamestown/ West Ellicot

The man at the desk was really kind and helpful, and the location was good. The room, though, was extremely dirty. We even found someone’s diabetic needles in it. We asked to move, but the replacement room looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. With that experience, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We had to eat breakfast in our coats because the dining room was so cold. Outside our room, daylight showed around the door, and the drafts were obvious in the subzero weather. The room itself was clean, but the furniture was old: the computer chair had crumbs on its seat and a big hole in the back, and the toilet rocked and knocked like someone at the door whenever you sat on it. The online ad photos gave a misleading impression. We arrived earlier than expected and were told to wait in the parking lot for two hours. Our room was available, and we watched the maid clean the other used rooms, but not ours. It seems we could have checked in earlier, though that would have inconvenienced the desk clerk. We wouldn’t recommend this place for a comfortable stay.

Traffic outside was so loud that we couldn’t sleep, and the location was awful. The room was gross, with dirty socks left on the floor and old shampoo bottles still in the shower. It made us doubt that the sheets had even been changed. Staff were friendly, but the continental breakfast was just one cold piece of French toast, stale bagels, and raisin bran. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more somewhere else.

The beds were really hard, and there was a dirt bike running through the night in the downstairs residence. We were put in a room that shouldn’t have been in use. Its toilet lid fell off when we lifted it, there was mold on the bedding, and the water switched from full blast to a drip while showering or washing our hands. The back door lock was broken, with signs someone had tried to break in. Honestly, the place was probably haunted, haha.
