The front desk said the manager would call Monday about compensating us for the pizzas, which was appreciated. I’d set the Little Caesars boxes on a vent by our tables during my son’s birthday party by the pool. When I opened one, ants were all over it, and all 10 pizzas were affected. Kids were also jumping into the hot tub. One landed on my wife’s head, then said she had slipped and fallen in. It felt like nobody was enforcing any rules, so the place was a free-for-all. We had a good time otherwise, if you can put up with disrespectful guests.

I asked for a refund after the stay. The photos online made the place look nice, and after a long shift away from home I was counting on the pool and hot tub, but both were under maintenance when I arrived after 8 PM. The room was mostly clean, though the TV remote was dusty and there was dust elsewhere. It smelled musty, and the first-floor hallway smelled like marijuana. The pictures also don’t show how badly the property needs updating.

The evening and night were loud and chaotic, with someone acting recklessly from about 2 to 3 a.m. and the police being called. The pool area was gross, with hair, food, and trash around. The hot tub couldn’t be used, either because there were no instructions or because it wasn’t working. In the room, cleanliness was poor and the bathroom looked very outdated. There was strange rust in and around the toilet, and I had to hold the handle down to get it to flush fully. It felt like an uncared-for motel posing as a hotel, and the price wasn’t justified.

The pool water was disgusting, and the whole stay was horrible. I don’t recommend this place, especially if you’re African American. I found the staff very rude and unprofessional, and felt they were racist. After swimming with the kids for my son’s birthday, we came back to a room with no electricity, apparently because the circuit breaker had gone out. My phone was dead, so I couldn’t call. I waited at the front desk for about 15 minutes that night, but no one was there. With small children in the room, one with a disability, I went back and planned to mention it at checkout if it still wasn’t fixed. The next morning I called the desk, and the woman became hostile, saying she couldn’t help because I’d yelled at her for being rude. At checkout we argued, then another woman, who seemed to be her mother and possibly a manager or owner, came out yelling aggressively as if they both wanted to fight. The receptionist came around the corner, got in my face, and called the police when I asked for a small discount on a future visit or some kind of complimentary item because we’d had no power all night. They need to treat people with respect, empathy, and professionalism. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had, 0/10.
