The room had a good-sized layout, strong shower pressure, and a nice gas fireplace, and we appreciated that the lodge welcomes dogs. But the floors were badly worn, with bumps and tears, and we could hear through the thin walls. The worst issue was the Wi-Fi: it was painfully slow, especially when the lodge was full, even though our room was near the access point. We spent two nights here over Valentine’s weekend and expected more for the price. The place felt run down, as other reviews had mentioned. Our room advertised ocean views, but looked out over a road and parking lot. The shared hot tub is tiny, so we had to wait when other guests were using it. We were also disappointed that none of the pet-friendly rooms had private hot tubs. Rooms 5-8 may feel more secluded.

We spent three days and two nights at Fort Ross Lodge with our dog and had such a good time. The ocean is just steps away, with beautiful views and plenty to do nearby. We even saw a whale, which made the trip especially memorable. Everyone was friendly and attentive, too. It was a lovely blend of relaxing, being outdoors, and having little adventures. We can’t wait to return.

The ocean-facing jacuzzi was such a peaceful place to spend the afternoon, and the location was just right for disconnecting and resetting. My room was clean and cozy, and I liked having real coffee in the morning before heading out. Michael welcomed me and was kind, proactive, and flexible about my arrival, which made everything easy and enjoyable. He’s the person to talk to!

From the king bed, I could look right out at the Pacific Ocean, with a roaring fireplace beside me. Some rooms have better views than others, but this one was gorgeous. Fort Ross Lodge is a 10/10 romantic coastal getaway for me, highly recommend!!!!

We spent four nights here and found the rooms comfortable, with all the things we wanted, including soft robes. The managers and staff were helpful and friendly, and the setting is stunning. There’s plenty to explore nearby, from hiking and beaches to wineries and the historic Fort. The store is well stocked, and the coffee bar and deli were amazing. My husband and I will definitely come back!
