Timber Cove Resort

We booked our micro wedding at Timber Cove last October without seeing the venue first. Kari and the team were so kind and communicative from the start, answering our questions promptly and thoroughly. The venue is beautiful and relaxing, and we had an amazing time. The service was impeccable, the food got rave reviews from everyone, and the team were so easy to work with. It rained a little on our big day, but they were ready with alternatives to the lawn all morning in case I was worried. We love the location and know we’ll come back to visit.

The rooms are lovely, the views are breathtaking, and the staff are top notch. Jamie was a huge help at check-in. Alika, the really tall bartender, made fantastic cocktails and talked me into trying something new. Luna took great care of us in the restaurant, explaining the dishes and sharing recommendations. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The whole setting settles into your soul. Every room has a fireplace, and the records, art, warm wood, and floor-to-ceiling glass all feel thoughtfully chosen. We only spent one night, but it was a genuinely memorable weekend and we’re already looking forward to returning. Easily one of my favorite spots on the entire Pacific Coast, a 10 out of 10. The hotel sits in its own little corner of the Sonoma coast, with modernist and mid-century charm. Those views alone could fix my attitude for a week.

I booked a 30-person brunch at Timber Cove Resort and some guests stayed there, though I didn’t stay myself. I’ve eaten at Coast Kitchen several times, but those visits aren’t part of this review. The Ansel Adams room is beautiful, with a stunning view. The buffet food was as good as you could reasonably expect for a catered meal at this scale. I especially liked the ricotta pasta and smoked salmon platter. The coffee was a little weak, but adequate. Day-of service was exceptional. Spencer, Kenzie, and Alyssa deserve special recognition for being professional, attentive, and helpful. One guest has a severe allergy, and they could answer questions about individual dish ingredients. At the end, they also asked if we wanted to take leftover drinks with us. The brunch felt safe, beautiful, and delicious. Thank you, TCR team! Before, during, and after booking, though, communication with the back-office teams was challenging and frustrating. Our banquet event order listed coffee, milk, orange juice, and hot water for tea, all of which we’d requested. I was surprised to see milk priced at 28 units @ $32.00, nearly $900 of milk for the guests. I explained that we expected one pitcher for a younger guest and anyone wanting a splash in their coffee. They corrected the BEO but didn’t acknowledge the mistake, let alone apologize for an error that could have cost us a grand. I was then told the price had been changed to “milk pricing for a pitcher instead of each glass,” which seemed obviously false, or would mean charging 10 times the national average restaurant price for a glass of milk. More generally, getting a message acknowledged and moving to the next step often took a few extra days and one or two reminders beyond what seemed standard, including when I asked them to charge our card for the final payment. Anyway, if you’re nearby and planning a big event, TCR is a great place, but those are downsides to manage.
