The noise was a problem throughout my stay. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear neighbors talking and traffic outside, and there was a breeze coming through my fully closed, poorly insulated window. My AC was unpredictable too, sometimes working, partly working, or not working at all, though maybe that was just my unit. What made us leave was the confusion about cats. My mom and I checked in to separate rooms, she had a dog and I had two cats. When we mentioned the cats at the front desk, the woman there didn’t object and said it was fine. A week later, when housekeeping came to clean, the cleaner told me cats weren’t allowed and “they will have to be removed from the hotel immediately.” We were told the reason was “allergies.” It’s confusing that dogs are allowed but cats aren’t, and I really felt like the hotel hates cats. We had to pack everything and move to another hotel, even though we were staying long term while trying to find a home during our move from Florida to Tennessee. We had a lot of belongings with us. This was probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, not because it was dirty or broken, but because of what happened to me. The cheap rate, especially for a long stay, might be tempting, but it was loud and frustrating, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with pets.

My room was clean, and the new facility and friendly staff were definite pluses. I’m not sure how to rate the place because I liked the cleanliness, but there are hardly any amenities. The cabinets were almost completely empty, with no tissues, paper towels, or hand towels, just an extra roll of toilet tissue. There are drink vending machines, but I couldn’t find an ice machine, and I think there’s only one elevator. If you’re staying for an extended period, plan to bring your own supplies and make a trip out after you unload. Getting in with bags is awkward because there are two sets of doors and neither is automatic, so bringing a friend to hold doors or carrying less would help. The walls are very thin too, so you might need a white noise machine to sleep the first night.

The odors were overwhelming all week. The hallways reeked of cleaner, the stairwells smelled strongly of rubber, and the air freshener at the front desk was so intense it was hard to stand there and check in. Staff also repeatedly gathered in a large group to smoke by the door, blocking the entrance. People with medical conditions may not be able to be around secondhand smoke, and having to walk through cigarette smoke just to get inside felt inconsiderate and unprofessional. The room had problems too. The door took a very hard pull to close, the windows wouldn’t open for light unless you wanted everyone to see inside, and the thin walls kept us awake. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it. You’d need to bring cooking utensils, induction cooktop cookware, hand towels, and toilet paper, and put up with the noise, cigarette smoke, and strong cleaners. It was a very uncomfortable week.

Will made a big difference on my most recent visit. He suggested I park at the back so I only had to pass through one set of doors instead of two, helped with check-in, and was thoughtful enough to put me at the end of the hall. It was quiet there, and I didn’t hear a thing. He was kind and helpful when I saw him again on my return trip, and I was glad he was there. I’ve stayed here three times and plan to keep choosing it when I travel from KY to NC, at least four times a year. The hotel is clean, I’m comfortable showering there, it’s pet friendly, and the room has a full-size fridge and freezer. They also let me stay two extra hours for $20 after arriving around 5AM, and I could have extended until 3pm for another $20. That flexibility was a huge help when the trip went nothing like planned and I arrived as other people were leaving. The holiday rate didn’t jump either, and the price stayed the same across the days of the week. I’ll be back on my way to NC for Christmas. There have been some frustrations. In room 202 over thanksgiving break, the AC didn’t turn on until the middle of the night. Since I’d tried to start it earlier, it was on the coldest setting and I woke up freezing, so I’d check on that. On my first stay, at Christmas of 2024, the woman who checked me in watched me struggle with my things at the door while items kept falling off my cart. She said, “I sometimes wish I had a string that I could attach to the door to help people sometimes.” I thought she couldn’t leave her position, but the manager later told me she could have helped. The manager was kind, apologized, and said she’d look into it. Will was a much better experience.

We stayed for two weeks for work and chose this newer hotel because many places in the area had mold or roaches. It was clean, and the housekeeper I met was friendly and helpful, but the room felt cramped for two people on an extended stay. There was no table on one side of the bed, no bathtub, and we couldn’t get the stovetop working. Housekeeping only cleans rooms every 14 days, which could get nasty depending on who’s staying there, even if you try to keep things tidy. You also have to request everything instead of having it replenished as needed, which is inconvenient. The laundry room has several washers and dryers but no folding table. The side exit doors on our side couldn’t be opened from outside the whole two weeks. We tried propping a door open and asking someone to close it while we waited outside, which felt rude.
