Breakfast was the most off putting part. At 7:30, there were barely a couple bites of eggs and a ladle of potatoes left, with only about five small plates. Froot Loops was the only cereal, and the juice looked so watered down that I didn’t want to taste it. No staff came into the breakfast room while I was there for about ten minutes. There was yogurt, milk, muffins, and apparently coffee, and the mini waffle I got was tasty, though I wasn’t sure how much batter or syrup remained. Later I found my bed hadn’t been made, even though I’d gone downstairs the night before to request that housekeeping do it. The front desk woman said housekeeping must have missed her note. My room was first given to someone else with the same first name, but I ended up with two queens instead of one king, so that wasn’t a major issue. The room is large and has a sitting area, desk and chair, big TV, fridge with freezer, microwave, room for two suitcases, and a closet. The stools are worn, and the tub and shower drain very slowly. I couldn’t report it because nobody was visibly at the front desk. This place could be nice, but some things need to change.

We had five rooms booked for two nights and three more for one night, but the pool was closed indefinitely and nobody told us before we arrived. We spent an hour and a half in the lobby trying to find a hotel with five rooms, a pool, and a hot tub. We had people coming from northern Wisconsin with children, so having a pool mattered. The desk clerk said the pool had already been down for months when we booked. That was really disappointing.

The women’s bathroom was awful, with towels everywhere and garbage piled up. We had to go back to our room for towels because there weren’t any to use. The jacuzzi didn’t work, and the doors near the party area were left open all night. I came down at 8 in the morning, even though breakfast runs until 10, and everything was empty and dirty. There was no staff in sight. I’ve been coming here since moving here about four years ago, and I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but this place has changed a lot and feels like a dump now. I was really unhappy with this little trip with my kids. I won’t recommend it or come back, and I’m going to speak with the head boss. Very sad.

At least ten of our wedding guests told me their rooms were dirty or had mold, and several chose not to stay there by the end of the night. My husband and I had an okay room, but recommending this hotel to everyone for our September wedding turned into an embarrassing sore point on an otherwise fantastic day. The staff were kind, though overwhelmed by complaints and frustrated guests. Booking the room block was easy, and the Comfort Suites booking agents were easy to work with. For an event stay, I wouldn’t book here.
