Best Western Plus North Joliet

We paid $130 for one night after going to an event in town, but the experience was unacceptable. Our whole floor smelled strongly of marijuana, and the odor woke us in the middle of the night. It made me nauseous and kept us from sleeping. We had our baby with us, which made it even more concerning. I told the front desk and expected an apology or some effort to fix things. Instead, my complaint was brushed off. They said “someone could have been smoking outside” and that “there was no one in the rooms around us,” even though the smell was strong and clearly inside the hotel. They showed no concern, offered no solution, and didn't acknowledge how disruptive and inappropriate it was. For what we paid, the cleanliness, comfort, and service were unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I'd choose one of the neighboring hotels.

The pool's hours were limited, closing at 9 pm and not opening until 9 am. In the room, the mattress cover was filthy, and the bedding was just two sheets sandwiching a dirty duvet. I asked for a proper duvet cover, was told they had one, then got two sheets again. There was mold in the elevator too, and the place looked nothing like the online photos. Hard to believe it's still getting business.

The rooms were well cleaned, and the staff were nice. The pool water had a weird taste, though. We weren't drinking it, lol, but you could taste it when you licked your lips.

I didn't expect this hotel to be so nice. It was comfortable and had a lot to offer, including a snack bar, beer and wine, a pool, and hot tub. Breakfast was great, and the suites have a shower with tons of shower heads. It's dog friendly too.
