Spin and Margies Desert Hideaway

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are really nice. It's so close to Joshua Tree National Park and a few other fun spots. Such an awesome little place, and I'll be back.

We stayed in comfortable, convenient cottages at a reasonable rate, with clean, well-equipped rooms and a lovely outdoor space. The place has a great atmosphere, especially under the stars. It feels like you've gone another 100 miles into the desert, even though it's right off the main road. The owner stopped by to introduce herself and was so friendly. We ate breakfast at County Kitchen, which was yummy, and had my hair and make-up done at Bloom by Michelle for a wedding just across the way at Green Acres, a beautiful location. Spin and Margie's is a fabulous place to visit and relax outside beneath the stars. I can't say enough good things about it. I hope to come back next year, and we already know where we'll stay.

For a family of four with two young kids, this worked out perfectly. It's cute, clean, and conveniently placed, and the in-suite cooking setup had plenty of room for groceries. You'll want more than a day for the Park, so it's a great place to make camp. The new pool was warm, and even under cold, clear skies the kids swam until they were exhausted. They wouldn't come up to see the amazing starry sky. I don't think you could do better as a base for exploring Joshua Tree.

The beds are comfortable, the decor is fun, and I can't wait to return. Four of the five units have kitchenettes with a sink, stovetop burners, and a microwave, plus the biggest collection of kitchen supplies I've seen, including dishes, pots, and spices. We spent two nights at Spin & Margie's recently, five years after my last visit. It's perfectly placed for the Park and for going out to eat in Joshua Tree or 29 Palms.
