The rooms were old and dingy, with what looked like no updates since the 70s, and none of the gym equipment worked. When I stayed with my husband for a few days before my flight, breakfast was there only on the first day, then it disappeared. I saw a woman and her man or husband or boyfriend eating it with people who clearly seemed to be friends and weren't staying at the hotel. After I left, my husband said they told him he had to check out because a group had booked the entire hotel. But when he went to find another place, he noticed there were no cars at the hotel that night or on any of the following nights. It felt like they lied, and I don't understand why they'd turn away business that way. He works at Fort Riley, and could have brought other people working at the base to stay there too, since plenty of construction workers are from out of town like him. We came to visit while he was working out of state, checked in together, and he stayed a couple more weeks after my departure. I wouldn't recommend it unless your expectations are extremely low.

The room was clean, and the beds were fairly comfortable, but the place is very old and needs repairs. The pool is tiny. At 5:00 pm, the front desk guy was asleep when we checked in. The next morning, we went to breakfast at 6:45 and had trouble waking the woman who was asleep on a bench in the breakfast area. She said breakfast usually starts at 6:30, but with only 3 rooms occupied she wasn't going to serve it. WHAT? That's a first for us, and this location is a definite no for us. UPDATE AND WARNING: The manager, Regina, told me they don't do breakfast when fewer than 5 people are staying. I'd suggest asking before booking, but she said they only know that by 5:00 AM that morning. She was extremely rude, and said her overnight staff get tired, so she lets them lie down in the breakfast area.

The front desk staff were great, but this place is a dump that needs a ton of work and updating. The owners obviously don't care. I've traveled all over the county, and these were the highest pet fees I've seen, $80 a night for two small dogs.

The staff were kind and friendly, and seemed to enjoy chatting with guests. Breakfast was good, especially for a free meal, and the woman who makes it is awesome. The location worked well for visiting a friend at fort Riley, with Walmart and Aldi's right nearby. The rooms were clean, with no bed bugs or cracks. My two complaints were that the AC didn't keep the room very cold and the shower fixture could use an update at the head and spout. I was there at the end of July, the hottest month, so I understand the AC might struggle with the heat and humidity. Other guests seemed nice too. The parking lot was partly under construction. I didn't use the pool or exercise equipment.
