We were here in March, arriving after the first big storm and leaving before the second. This is easily my favorite resort I’ve ever visited. Everyone was sweet and accommodating, and the valley guys were awesome once we got to know them. Our two-bedroom room was huge for the five of us: two kids in one room, one on the couch, and us in the master. The couch bed was just as comfortable as the other beds. Having a full kitchen, washer, and dryer was great. Even with a partial ocean view, the views were amazing. The pools were cleaned every morning, the pool areas were really nice, and the beach was only steps away. The location put us close to everything, and the restaurant on the property was amazing.
The pools are amazing, with lots of choices, and my kids love the slide, waterfalls, and caves. The beach is so close, though I need shade and haven’t spent much time there. We rented snorkel gear for $22 each for the day and saw turtles and beautiful fish. Valet parking is complimentary and has been really handy. We’re very pleased with our choice and will be back. Our two-bedroom room has mountain views that I wouldn’t trade, and the kitchen and bathrooms are perfect. The beds aren’t the comfiest, but the rooms are beautiful.
The sixth-floor view was one of our favorite parts of the trip, and having two main pools and the beach right next door was great. On-site snorkel rentals were so convenient, and everyone got to see a sea turtle before we left. We came to Maui for the first time as a group of five adults and one child, and stayed six days and five nights. There are plenty of markets and places to eat nearby. The appliances were top notch, though parts of the room felt old and worn. Service was okay, with texting as our main way to get in touch.
The view was spectacular, and the pools were fantastic and clean. It was my first trip to Hawaii, and I had a wonderful time at this Maui resort. The rooms were so nice, the staff kind and professional, and dukes restaurant was right there with great food and drinks. I’ll definitely come back.
The grounds were very nice, but the last two days of our five-day stay the pool was murky and full of debris. It looked like the filter wasn’t working. I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but we had a bad experience. Luckily, after those five days we met friends at another resort and had a lovely time. At check-in, we paid $335 for an upgrade that was supposed to give us a better view. It didn’t, and the room had several issues. The next morning, the front desk kindly let me see the original room, which was much nicer and had a beautiful view, so I went back and asked to move. I also requested the upgrade fee back and asked for compensation for the first night, because the ceiling light kept switching on by itself and I found all the dispensers missing when I showered. The front desk employee said he’d talk to his manager, but I heard nothing. When I called the next day, he insisted repeatedly that I’d never made the request and essentially called me a liar. I called a manager myself and learned the employee hadn’t contacted the manager at all. The manager did accommodate my request, but feeling scammed at the front desk and being treated like a liar is why I’m leaving a poor review.
