Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

The beach access and beautiful views were among our favorite parts, and we’d definitely stay here again. Our room at Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows was clean and comfortable, with housekeeping every other day. The Royal Stay breakfast package was well worth it, with delicious food that got each day off to a great start. The package also included free tickets to the Myths of Maui Luau, a nice extra. We loved the drinks and snacks from the Pineapple Moon. The gym was clean and very well equipped, and the free shuttle made getting around convenient. We recommend it to anyone visiting Maui.

There’s plenty to do, with cardio and strength training rooms, morning yoga, two pools, and some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had. The Royal Lahaina is my happy place, it’s so beautiful and I’d stay every day if I could. My wife and I first came here on our honeymoon years ago, and finally returned with our teenage kids. This time we had a bungalow, nicer even than the room we’d enjoyed on our honeymoon. It was clean and spacious with a nice ocean view. The beach is only steps away, and it’s one of the most beautiful I’ve ever visited. I was surprised the soft sand and comfortable water were so quiet while we were there. It might not always be that way, but the beach was much less crowded than the ones in Cancun or St. Maarten.

The birds were super annoying. The hotel has done virtually nothing to curb them, so expect them on tables, chairs, and other fixtures. I’ve seen island restaurants string fishing line to keep birds away, though maybe that isn’t allowed here. I watched pigeons swarm a server’s tray as he carried a plate to diners. Pretty disgusting. We spent a week in a comfortable bungalow, and I could throw a baseball from the patio into the surf. There are two pools, friendly staff, a bar, and nice towel service. A free shuttle runs conveniently to the local shopping center, “whalers village.” We bought the breakfast package, and the breakfast and staff were good.

Everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and professional, from the restaurant and hallway staff to the front desk. Special thanks to Stephen and Gina, and the whole Valet Team, for such great service. We had a wonderful stay at Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows. The property is relaxing and well maintained, with an authentic Maui feel. Its unbeatable location right on a beautiful beach brought incredible ocean views and stunning sunsets. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back. Mahalo for a wonderful stay!
