The room was nice and the property itself was decent, which makes the manager’s treatment of guests especially disappointing. She enforces the rules very aggressively. Only one of the three grills worked while we were there, and they’re in the pool area, which closes at 9. We had to share the working grill, then she came out at 9 and told us to stop because the area was closed. She also shouted at another guest’s 9-year-old for rinsing sand at the station inside the pool area instead of the one outside, even though both are for rinsing sand. My brother got yelled at for flying his drone. He apologized more than once, but she kept berating him and fined him $250 rather than speaking calmly. The rules say pets must be leashed, yet her cats wander around the common area. We talked to several other guests with complaints, too. She shouldn’t be in customer service. It’s a shame, because the property itself wasn’t bad.

The location and accommodations are good, but a family hoping to enjoy the pool should think twice. At 1:30 in the afternoon, the kids were playing like kids do when someone apparently complained they were too loud to hear a movie. We had to take them back to our room and tell them they couldn’t have fun in the pool. Such a letdown.

Unit A202 left me underwhelmed. The balcony doors didn’t work, and although the note on the refrigerator said coffee was provided, there wasn’t any in the fridge. The front door has a steel screen and frame that made the place feel like a crime zone. Some of the window screens were torn, coming loose from their frames, and flapped in the breeze.

The view is hard to beat, and the place was clean, safe, and peaceful. We also got quick replies whenever we had questions. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Surf Shack properties A102.
