Club Wyndham Mauna Loa Village

It's a very quiet, comfortable, high-quality place to stay, and I'll definitely come back. We stayed for a week in a two-bedroom suite. The resort is dated, but the inside of the building had been renovated and looked brand new. The bedrooms were on the first floor, with the living room and kitchen upstairs. Every room was spacious and clean, and a BBQ grill was nearby. You'll need a car for the location. During our stay we could text resort staff, who responded quickly to requests. Beach chairs, parasols, and a fishing rod were available free of charge.

The view over the golf course was nice, and the gym was clean enough, though very limited. The place felt average overall. It was spacious, but had limited contents and was very outdated. The shade curtains were ripped, probably from age. It was frustrating that tennis and pickleball weren't free to use when the courts are on site. There's no access to the water from the property either.

The location is okay, but it's far from the main city. We won't stay here again. The parking was a long way from the apartment, and walking back in the rain was no fun. Two of the pools weren't working. There were several problems in the unit: the microwave didn't work, the garbage disposal was broken and clogged, and the internet was as slow as old dial-up. The carpet was filthy. Don't they know carpets are out in 2026? They're dirty and a health hazard.

I wanted an affordable base for exploring Kona and scuba diving, and the room, amenities, and service were far better than I expected. Our room was huge, with a well-equipped lanai, kitchen, and bedroom.
