Breakfast was a highlight, truly gourmet, homemade, and delicious. We also enjoyed relaxed conversations with the other guests each morning, sharing what we’d been doing and our plans for the day. Amy and Sheila welcomed us like family as soon as we arrived. Our Lani suite was charming, spotless, and cozy, with a lovely deck and pergola just off the bedroom. We left feeling rested and refreshed, and would gladly come back. We were especially grateful that Amy offered us the entire suite for our travel day since nobody was checking in right after us. Thank you so much, Amy!

This was back in May, so apologies for the late note. Amy took such good care of us over our three days, and even let me send my shopping there before I arrived. Breakfast was freshly made each day with a nice variety of local ingredients, some grown on the property, which I loved. The house has a lovely Zen/FengShui feel, with water, trees, birds, a whirlpool, a comfy bed, and parking. It’s within reasonable driving distance of lots of places. We went up Mauna Kea, did a night snorkel with Mantas in Kona, and drove to Volcano Village. We’d love to visit again soon. Michael and Nicole from Switzerland.

We contacted several places while searching for somewhere to stay for a couple of nights, and Honu Kai was the only one we felt comfortable booking. It was extremely clean, organized, and clearly well cared for. Amy was a 10/10 host, welcoming from our first call right through to departure. She was genuinely kind, and we had an amazing stay. Highly recommend, and thank you, Amy.

Amy was warm and accommodating, and Honu Kai felt like a big island hug when my boyfriend and I arrived on our first day there. The atmosphere was calming, and the breakfasts were thoughtfully put together, light, and delicious. Thanks, Amy, for making the stay feel so magical.

We spent four nights at Honu Kai and loved how well it worked for us. We had several scuba dives at a nearby harbor, where most of the dive shops and snorkel tours depart, so the location was a big plus. Amy was kind, attentive, and an incredible host who makes the best breakfasts. The rooms are lovely, the beds comfortable, and the porch and hot tub have a lot of charm. I’d highly recommend Honu Kai.
