The balcony overlooking the Pacific was the best part of our three-night stay at the Kona Bali. My two friends and I spent a lot of evenings out there eating or just sitting together. The two-bedroom condo was clean and had a decent amount of space. On our first night, we couldn't get the bamboo balcony shade down, but Coy from the rental company came by, fixed it, and showed us how to use it. Kitchen storage was the main drawback: the cupboards were already packed with dishes and cookware, leaving only the counters for the food we bought that didn't need refrigeration. There also weren't basics like salt, pepper, or other condiments, which we've had in most rentals. Otherwise, we had no complaints.

Our room, 301, was clean and nice, with comfortable beds. The views were great, too. Just know that rooms facing the road get a lot of traffic noise. It didn't ruin the stay for us, and Ali’i Drive is busy along its whole stretch, so you'd run into that elsewhere on the road as well.

We could watch the sunsets from the beach or our condo, and the tide pools across the street had brightly colored fish and a little sea turtle. My daughter and I found this to be just right, especially since it was one of the most affordable places we looked at. The complex is a bit older, but we loved our stay and will book here again.

Not being able to open the windows or screen door took a lot away from the stay. The handle on the screen door was an easy repair, but it wasn't fixed. The place felt poorly cared for and low quality, and we left disappointed. I wouldn't stay here.

The sunsets are incredible, and you can sleep practically right by the ocean. Just be aware that most units don't have AC.
