We had an amazing 3 weeks here in January 2026 and would stay again. Kona Isle C35 was just as described. We only had to buy food because the unit came stocked with paper supplies, soap, shampoo, dish and laundry soap, baggies, tinfoil, mosquito repellent, beach chairs, sun and rain umbrellas, coat hangers, and more. The A/C was exceptional. Lots of Hawaii condos have no A/C or just a window unit, but C35 has super quiet A/C from above, with units in both the bedroom and living room.
The view was really nice, and there was a nice pool and “ private “ beach access. The location was good, with lots of commodities, but there were a lot of flies inside and cockroaches that affected our stay. We called to ask them to address it, but they're only open from 9 to 3pm. They said there was nothing they could do and that it was part of Hawaii. Honestly, that's a pretty easy answer.
I appreciated that quiet hours start after 10 pm, and parking was free, with one spot for our one bedroom condo. Recycling is offered or encouraged, and the bins are by the trash containers just inside the parking lot. Flower beds full of lovely plants and flowers line the walkways to each building. We heard birds chirping through the day and, I think, all night too. We saw red headed, yellow and brown birds in daylight. Our first floor condo faced the ocean, and the view was spectacular, though not every unit faces that way. There's a man-made “beach” with loungers, straight back chairs, picnic tables, grills, shade trees and palms. Lava rocks block most access to the water, but you can still see the ocean while sitting there. The complex also has a very nice swimming pool, and renters can bring up to two visitors at no cost. If we visit Kona again, we'd definitely stay here!
The garden is beautifully kept, with tall coconut palms swaying and providing shade. There's a sandy beach area with tables, chairs, chaise loungers and 3 propane grills. The pool is well maintained and wasn't crowded. This is a nicely located, well cared for oceanfront complex with about 70 individually owned and managed units. Upstairs units have broader, unobstructed ocean views. There's no elevator. Since every condo has its own owner, decor, upkeep and maintenance differ from one to another. Ours was clean and modern, with a good wall unit A/C.
Shopping and dining are about 5 minutes away, and the grounds are immaculate. The setup is pretty sweet compared with some of the higher end rentals in the area, right on the ocean and beside the pool. Just watch out for nearby units, since remodeling and construction noise went on constantly.
