Spacious 1 BR/1 BA Keauhou Gardens condo at Kona Coast Resort

For the price, the suite felt worth it. We were happy with it: ours was on the top floor, with a high ceiling, plenty of space, and good furniture, including the bed. There's a washer and dryer in the suite. The room faces the sea, which looks beautiful in the daytime, and the front desk staff were friendly.

The pools were a big hit with my kids in the afternoons, and the property has lots of outdoor activities to keep everyone occupied. It feels like a tropical paradise. Our room was huge, with a full kitchen and patio, so we could make breakfast and watch the sunrise each morning. We had an amazing vacation here.

The room was roomy, had AC, and the full kitchen was useful. I also really liked relaxing on the veranda. The common spaces could use more furniture, though, and the gardens are manicured so heavily that a gas 2-stroke weed-wacker disturbed a peaceful morning. An electric one would be much appreciated. Good value overall.

The location is great, the grounds are beautiful, and there are ocean views, a nice golf course, activities for kids, and a pretty quiet atmosphere. Staff were helpful and quick with our housekeeping requests. But our unit was extremely run down and outdated. Shower tiles were old and stained, green mold was trapped in the glass walls and grout, and the living room carpet was torn and shredded. We traded through shell vacation club timeshare, and there's an extra daily charge for AC. When we booked, we made sure to request two rooms with king beds because we were traveling as two couples. At check-in we learned the second room had two twins, so my husband and I slept separately all week. Not exactly a romantic week in Hawaii. The restaurant was expensive and not very good. Bring cash, because it's even more expensive to pay by card or charge it to the room.
