The rooms are tiny and very minimalist, with pretty much no wasted space. I liked having free hot water and coffee downstairs, and breakfast was pretty good. Jayamati Nath was wonderful at check-in, professional and kind, and ready to help if there was a problem. The side entrance crosses a patio that gets slippery when it snows. Salt, and maybe rugs, are needed there. The afternoon desk agent was hard to find, often in the back office, and didn't answer when I called, so I had to come down and ring the bell. When he spoke with guests, he had a corded earbud in one ear. My heater blew cold air even though it was set to heat. Maintenance took longer than expected, and when I asked for an update, he seemed annoyed and just asked if I wanted another room. He didn't apologize or seem concerned, despite the windchill advisory and -20-degree weather outside.

The first room we were assigned hadn't been cleaned, so we went back to the desk and got one that was ready. The rooms are quite nice, and breakfast was genuinely good, which you don't always find these days. The surrounding area has a typical Rust Belt feel, but the hotel itself is nice. I'd stay again.

It was quiet, clean, and pleasant, and I slept really well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, with eggs, potatoes, and bacon as the hot choices. I had potatoes, toast, Greek yogurt, muffins, a banana, orange juice, coffee, and tea. No problems during my stay, and it was good value. I'd recommend it.

We left because we couldn't feel safe leaving our things there, let alone sleeping in the room. After the first time someone came in, we tried to give them some grace since we were a little ahead of check-in. But then another woman opened the door and walked straight in about ten minutes later, without knocking. She said she was checking whether everything was okay or if we needed anything. The desk called it a communication problem and said it wouldn't happen again. I can't help wondering if someone saw that I checked in alone and assumed I was traveling by myself. Who knows what could have happened. I absolutely wouldn't recommend staying here. It took 5-10 minutes for anyone to appear at the desk when I arrived. The hotel looked decent from outside, and the room seemed fine for one night of sleep at first. My husband and I were talking about dinner when the first door entry happened. The housekeeper seemed surprised to find us inside and thought the room was empty.

Breakfast is just grab-and-go, with mostly sausage sandwiches, little muffins, and other quick bites. It can tide you over, but don't expect a full spread. The workout room is basic too, though it's enough to get a workout in. The rooms are comfortable and functional, if nothing fancy, and everything indoors looked neat and well-kept. The lobby has a fresh feel, with a nice pop of color and plenty of seats. It's in a cluster with chains like Clarion and others, but holds its own. The whole place feels a bit European to me, minimalist and practical. For a clean, simple stay at a reasonable price, it does what it promises. A decent option when passing through or wanting something fuss-free.
