Kapalua Ridge Villas 323 by Coldwell Banker Island Vacations

Unit 1723 was fantastic. The Ridge sits high enough to give you commanding views across 180 degrees, so getting a few hours of work done can be tough when the scenery keeps distracting you. We'll be back.

I've stayed here four times and have come to love the complex, though the units vary a lot in quality. Two condos smelled musty and moldy, while two others had been remodeled and had no odor problems. The pools aren't pleasant, either. Their concrete decks look about 40 years old and could use nice tiles. The location and views are beautiful. The weather can be “moody,” which I actually enjoy: warm gusts at Ridge break up the heat, and we don't need AC during the day. Calm, sunny, hot beaches are a quick drive or a longer walk away. Since it's part of Kapalua resort, a free shuttle is available. There are beautiful walking paths through the complex and around it, with enough hills to get my heart rate up on morning walks.

The condo is spacious and fun to cook in, and the local beach is fantastic. Two other lovely beaches are an easy walk away. Kapalua Ridge Villas is in a great spot, away from the tourist hub but still close to some of the island's best beaches and destinations. I'd definitely come back.

Management was very responsive and helpful, and the housekeepers did a great job with a lovely aloha spirit. The unit was well equipped, with a desk looking out to sea, and meals at the table came with that same lovely view. From above the treetops, you get almost a 180-degree ocean view. The location catches the cross-breezes and trade winds. The place could have been a little fresher, though. I really don't like deep-pile bedroom carpet, especially in a tropical climate. I'd definitely return.
