The maintenance crew keeps the grounds so tidy that walking around feels like being in a botanical garden. Our unit, J1, was updated and satisfying, although the complex itself is older and units vary depending on their owners. Keep in mind this is on a residential street, with about a 15-minute walk to a small, busy beach. There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance, but the road curves and has no sidewalk, so walking is dangerous, especially at night. You’ll need a rental car, which also gives you flexibility to see other parts of the island. There’s a rooster that wakes up right at 3 am, and plenty of others roam around the island too. We didn’t have problems with locals like other people mentioned, though someone we waved to didn’t respond. It seems Maui locals, tourists, and business owners aren’t in sync on some things. I’ll leave it there. I snapped some pics.
