I was charged $112 for one night on top of the $50 deposit they asked for at check-in. I’d never had to pay a deposit on past stays, and I only noticed the extra charge later when I checked my banking app. I’ll be contacting corporate and now have to fight to get my money back. I’d booked a smoking room with two beds through the Choice Hotels app a few days earlier, but at check-in they said only non-smoking rooms were left. Do not stay here.

Not fancy, but the rooms were clean and the price was good. The people were nice too. They allow dogs, which I love, and have a few smoking rooms.

The mattress needs replacing. It was so hard, lumpy, and uneven that it felt like lying on rocks, and the thin topper didn’t help. We first wondered if it had been flipped upside down, but it was just that bad. I’d read reviews saying the bed was comfortable, so maybe it was just our room, 113. The place is a little run down, but clean and affordable for a place to sleep.

I’m exhausted, so I’m staying, but otherwise I wouldn’t. The whole place is dilapidated: the ceiling above the toilet is flaking, the stairs are falling apart, and the door has no security latch.

Getting a checkout receipt was a joke. I rang the bell repeatedly, came back 20 minutes later and tried again, but nobody ever came to the desk. That’s why I’m giving it two stars. Otherwise, it was an okay place. The people at check-in were friendly and helpful, though breakfast on weekdays was just cold cereal and toaster items.
