The room was okay, but it had very little in it: no microwave or hot water or coffee pot. The old TV only gave me six channels, three in Spanish, even though the website said Direct TV. When I asked about getting more, nobody knew. I was back in town for a class reunion and had checked weeks ahead that my dog could stay. The website said pets were allowed, so I booked, but when we arrived there was a note saying no pets. I even showed the clerk a screenshot of the amenities page. They were nice and called someone, but the answer was still no. We’d driven from Tennessee with our Chihuahua, and I couldn’t leave her in the car all weekend, so I had to find someone who’d let her sleep at their house. I grew up in Kearny and even worked at the GKI my senior year, so this was especially disappointing. I wasn’t happy with the stay.

The bartender was friendly and quick, and the prices were reasonable. We stopped for a couple of drinks at the bar at the GKI, met a couple of locals, hi Evan & Norine (sp?)!, and had plenty of laughs. It was a fun end to our time in Kearny. We’ll absolutely be back.

The courtyard in the centre is a nice grassy oasis, and everyone here was super friendly. The front desk let me check in early so I could dump my backpack after a couple nights on the AZT, on my way to Oracle. I did my laundry and had a couple cold beers while I waited. The TVs are outdated, sure, but it’s a cheap motel, so don’t expect frills. Just read a book! The people work really hard and are the nicest folk. Be grateful!

They need to take the time to train the staff, or hire more people, especially for big events. Employees should learn the computers and how to book rooms without getting stressed out. The owners are responsible for their hotel.

The beds were hard as a rock and clearly old, and I didn’t sleep well at all. The room itself was very old and dated. Our TV didn’t work, though we later found out the control batteries had run out, and hard water had stained the bathtub. I was in town for a class reunion and had reserved a first floor room a month ahead. When I arrived, my reservation had disappeared, so I ended up having to climb to the second floor. This facility needs a dramatic upgrade. It isn’t a good place to stay.
