King's Inn

Our car broke down in Kennebec, and since we're not from SD, I called looking for somewhere to stay with my two dogs and three caged ferrets. The man said they only allow dogs and refused the ferrets, even after I explained that they were registered ESAs and one of my dogs is a service animal. We had no vehicle, and the other hotel in town had no rooms. It was 90 degrees out. Ferrets don't sweat, and they can't be in temperatures above 75 degrees without risking overheating and dying. They're not my “PETS”. He was heartless, and this establishment should be ashamed. I believe they had no legal right to deny me, and I'm looking into legal action because I know my ESAs rights. The argument that there are reasons to allow only dogs as ESAs is a joke. ESS’s means emotional support animals, not pets, because they help people like me with medical issues. Dogs aren't the only animals that provide emotional support. Limiting it to dogs is like being told I can only take aspirin for my issues because that's all you allow. ESAs are legally allowed at pet-friendly hotels. If a hotel isn't pet friendly, it doesn't have to allow ESAs.

The beds were very comfortable, and I'd happily stay here again. It's not perfect or brand new, but it was clean, comfortable, and affordable. I've stayed in far pricier places, including big chains and 3 and 4 star hotels, that weren't kept nearly as well. This place is exceptionally clean and well cared for. Highly recommend.

Clean room, hot shower, and a super comfy bed. Nick at the front desk was awesome, and making a reservation only took a name and phone number, no credit card needed. The little hotel is right off the highway, so it's convenient, yet nice and quiet. The people were nice, and it's a great spot for its size. I'd highly recommend it if you need somewhere for the night.

A family-run place with great attention to detail. The bathroom was spotless, there were multiple ways to heat the room, and there was a coffee maker. You can park right outside your room, too. So cute, clean, and courteous. If you want a really great place to sleep, this is it.
