Waldo Emerson Inn

The hosts made us feel at home in this beautiful, comfortable place. It was a pleasure to unplug in a picture-perfect house, with little touches of pampering everywhere. We settled into its many soft spaces with books and conversation, and enjoyed fresh-baked cookies, a fantastic breakfast, coffee, tea, beer, and wine. There are so many thoughtful details: history, the beach and restaurants nearby, a comfortable king-size bed we didn't want to leave, heated bathroom floors, and charming grounds. Can't say enough good things. We'll come back.

Amelia and Ron are lovely hosts, and their breakfasts are top-notch. The Waldo Emerson made for a delightful birthday weekend, with a perfect mix of authentic Old New England character and modern amenities. My wife arranged the stay, and I'd love to go back sometime. I can't recommend it enough.

The breakfast was delicious, and the room was beautifully decorated. My husband and I spent just one night at this lovely inn over Valentine’s Day weekend, but we had a wonderful time. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into looking after the place. We’d happily stay again and recommend it to friends.

Those chocolate chip cookies were a treat, and the homemade breakfasts were delicious enough to make us linger at the table. Amelia, the owner and innkeeper, was warm and welcoming, and clearly puts her heart into making guests feel cared for. The beds were comfortable, and the inn had a peaceful, cozy New England feel, with the history of Waldo Emerson Inn showing in the old floorboards and tucked-away corners. Its Revolutionary-era past, thoughtful touches, and gracious hospitality made it one of my favorite inns. It has a special place in our hearts.
