Best Western Kenner

We’ll be back on our next trip to New Orleans. The rooms matched the online pictures and were clean and spacious, but what really stood out was how attentive the staff were around the clock. We left a wallet in the room, and the desk clerk went to check herself and get it. By the time we reached the front entrance, someone was already bringing it out. I haven’t seen that much care in a long time.

Being away from home can make things hectic, and she made our stay easier. The young woman at the desk, Shontel? Sorry if I spelled her name wrong, was polite and incredibly helpful. She found us a nice, clean, comfortable room with a Jacuzzi and extra blankets. We sleep really cold at night, lol. It’s the people who make a place, and she was fantastic.

The breakfast area was a mess. There was a cockroach and moldy oranges on the buffet, and the hotel seemed so short-staffed that neither the desk nor the dining area had anyone there. I had to cover the roach with a cup myself. When a manager eventually showed up about 30 minutes later, she photographed it, then kicked the cup across the room while we were still trying to eat. That was gross and unprofessional. There wasn't even coffee or tea in the lobby for people leaving early, which is a basic thing I'd expect at an airport hotel. The room at least was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower warm. Still, poor management and hygiene issues overshadowed those good points. If sanitary breakfast and professional service matter to you, I'd avoid it.

After a long day at work I got back to the hotel and couldn't get in with my key. Robert, a very professional man with a beautiful smile, helped me rekey it and made sure I got safely to my room. I've driven for over 30 years, and a good attitude is key to safety. He went above and beyond. Thanks, Robert. May God bless you and your family ❤️
