Baymont by Wyndham Tri-Cities/Kennewick WA

The pool seemed fine at first, but then one of my kids found a half-eaten chicken wing in it. That was it for us, so we moved across the street to a different hotel. They were very accommodating and let the kids use the pool while our room was being prepared. After what happened at The Baymont, I really appreciated that. Shout-out to best Western plus in Kennewick. Earlier, we’d found hair on the bathroom floor from the previous guests, and the TV remote didn’t work. We were also woken in the night by screaming and profanity in the hallway. The spa had to be closed the next day because there appeared to be vomit or some other bodily mess in it. One of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.

The first room had water running into a full tub, urine in the toilet, and the toilet tank lid was off. We got moved right away, but the next room had mold in the shower, a tub finish that was peeling, no shampoo or soap, and blood marks on the bathroom wall. Absolutely disgusting.

The hotel itself was okay, though it’s showing its age and could use some renovation. What really ruined the stay was the pair of dogs in the adjoining room. They barked all night and scratched at the door, so I barely slept. The place was nearly empty, which made me wonder why pets were put in a room that adjoined ours. Nobody even asked how our stay went.

I was so exhausted after the long drive that I didn’t leave right away, but I couldn’t wait to check out. The room was dirty, poorly kept, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned before I arrived. From arrival through checkout, the stay felt substandard. I won’t be back and would recommend finding another hotel that cares about clean rooms and guest comfort.
