The strict rules made it hard to relax at Casa Bella House. We couldn’t enjoy a glass of wine outside after 9 p.m., and even using the kitchen felt like we might be breaking a rule if we touched anything. Management came across as rude and uninterested in making the stay pleasant. From the moment we arrived, it felt more like we were being watched than welcomed. We came for a relaxing weekend and left more stressed than when we got there. The micromanaging and unfriendly communication made this one of the worst hospitality experiences we’ve had. There are plenty of better places in Kenwood. Book somewhere else.

Tyler’s mother, who lives on the property, was polite and apologetic when we spoke with her. She said we hadn’t broken any rules and was lovely to chat with. That was a bright spot, but it didn’t undo how the threats and shouting from the property manager disrupted a weekend we’d paid $14,000 for. We were threatened with being kicked out without a warning, and what should’ve been a wonderful trip became incredibly stressful. If you’re planning to stay with more than 10 people, take this into account. We were a group of 22 and had called Tyler in the office during booking because of the noise complaints mentioned in other reviews. I said we’d be talking and swimming, and she assured me that was fine as long as we were inside before 9 p.m. and didn’t play music outside. Then, about a week before we arrived, they said they’d lost our $6,000 deposit and wanted us to send it again. For about a week, I had to show that the money had left my account and explain we’d paid it six months earlier. It was very stressful, especially since our guests had booked flights and the company wasn’t responding. The house was beautiful and spacious when we got there. On the first evening, we went outside to mingle and enjoy the June weather, with no music playing. At 8:15, a neighbor rode by on a bike, filmed us, and yelled at us to be quiet. Before 9, Tyler called, texted, and emailed angrily. We packed up and went inside right away, but she still threatened to remove us. On Saturday we were inside before 9 and played music while we mingled. At 10:30, we got a message saying we were too loud and had to check out by 11 the next morning, days before our planned departure. We apologized, said we’d be quiet, and asked to stay after this first warning. We went straight to bed, but she still insisted we leave. We explained everyone had flown in and we had nowhere else to go. She told us to get a hotel, with no refund for the day we’d already paid for. Fortunately, we had a lawyer and a county police officer in our group. After reviewing the county noise rules and the contract, they helped us push back on the claim that she could legally kick us out. We believed we’d followed the rules and had been very accommodating. When we said we’d leave but sue for the days we’d paid for, they backed down. On Sunday morning, Tyler called and screamed, cursed, and behaved very unprofessionally. We felt the business was trying to take advantage of young people, and were glad we stood up for ourselves.

With one night left in our stay, management yelled at my friend who booked the house and threatened to kick him out. We’d been calm and cooperative, so it felt completely out of line and stressful. There were 22 of us. We followed the posted quiet hours and tried to be respectful, but complaints still came in. The noise restrictions felt excessive, and we had the impression we were being watched the whole time, with nothing we did ever being enough. For a relaxed or celebratory weekend with a larger group, I’d look elsewhere. The company’s treatment of guests felt hostile and unprofessional.

The service was so unprofessional from top to bottom that it was shocking. We tried to follow the rules and be considerate, but still faced a lot of hostility. Before booking, we were told a group of 22 would be no problem and that the noise complaints in other reviews weren’t accurate. Later we were yelled and sworn at over the phone, then emailed a threat that we’d been kicked out over our noise level. The other one-star reviews got it right. Take them seriously.

We were told we were the first noise complaint in two years, but a review from a few months earlier described getting a similar profanity-filled message about noise. That made the claim seem like a blatant lie. Our group tried to follow rules that were frankly unreasonable, and it still wasn’t enough. We were upfront when booking a bachelor and bachelorette weekend for 22 people. After reading complaints about management’s intolerance of noise, the bride checked with them about the group size and the volume that would come with it. They assured her we’d be fine. But when a neighbor complained, management yelled and swore at both the bride and groom. It pulled them away from a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of their love to deal with what felt like shocking unprofessionalism. The management felt like they were on a power trip. Unless you’re planning a completely silent indoor retreat, book somewhere else and spare yourself the stress of dealing with such poor management. We were really disappointed and won’t return.
