Hampton Inn and Suites Cincinnati Kenwood

The rooms were good, the location was convenient, and I liked the pool. The fitness room was better than most three-star hotels, and breakfast was good too. Still, I’m concerned that the repeated car thefts in the lot haven’t been addressed. Our car was one of six there on Saturday night, and I’d heard that another 14 cars had been vandalized on earlier weekends. People break the rear windows and look for electronics or wallets. If you stay, take everything out of your car and leave it unlocked to save yourself the trouble. The hotel sits off the main road, tucked behind a gas station and next to an FBI building, which clearly hasn’t deterred them.

The breakfast buffet was allowed to run out of food an hour before it was supposed to close. The facility and location are nice, but the front desk seemed to be run like a hobby. We stayed two nights and had already paid Hilton in advance at a nonrefundable rate. At 1 a.m., my daughter was held up because the Hampton Inn staff couldn’t see the payment on their end, and she was made to pay again. Repeated discussions with front office staff and the manager got us nowhere, and they ignored our refund request. We had to stop the duplicate charge through our credit card company. Lesson learned: if this happens to you, don’t hand them your credit card.

The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, which mattered most to me. The staff were very accommodating.

The rooms are clean and well kept, and I’d definitely stay here again. It’s in a great spot, with easy freeway access and lots of nearby restaurants and shops.
