Towneplace Suites by Marriott Kernersville

Joseph remembered my name, listened when I pointed out problems, and even added extra points for the trouble. He seems keen to put things right, so I’d still recommend the hotel, which is new, with roomy rooms and friendly staff. We had a very positive stay, though there’s plenty to fix. The shower water stayed cold or barely warm, and Joseph said the builder thought it was because the hotel didn’t have enough guests yet. I’m not sure that’s the cause, but I hope it’s fixed before we return. The stove burners didn’t work, and the AC fan kept running even with the unit off and the mode set to “Off.” At night the living room was dim, with just one floor lamp and no desk or ceiling light. I also found handprints on the bedroom door and a brown chunk by the strike plate that looked like poop when I wiped it off with a wet paper towel. Our reserved top-floor room had been given to someone else, so we were below it and heard thumping overhead for a while one morning. Construction directly behind the hotel, across from our room, brought steady beeping from a scissor lift. It wasn’t very noticeable indoors until the next morning, when the room was quiet and work started at 7:16 AM. I had to put in earplugs. Breakfast needed attention too. At 8:45 AM the eggs were cold and running low, though staff brought fresh hot ones after a few minutes. The orange juice was mostly water at first, but they replaced it. They do respond when you tell them, but should stay on top of things without guests having to ask. Checkout was listed as 12pm on the website, but my key stopped working at 11AM. I had to go to the desk to reactivate it because of a Marriott key system issue that cancels keys at 11AM on checkout day.
