Kern Riverfront Lodge

On a Friday after 6:30 pm, I called three places and this was the only one that answered. The prices are great, and Debra was great too. It’s nice, clean, and affordable. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a place to stay.

The mountain views from the room were breathtaking, and there’s a quiet little diner right behind the buildings. As of December 2024, the riverfront was under construction for renovations. The town itself is quiet too. I was in Fresno for work and had the weekend free, so I went looking for a challenging hike near Lake Isabella without booking anywhere to stay. I found this place and arrived around 6:30 pm on Saturday. Nobody was at the office, but when I called, the woman was very kind and got me into a room over the phone using the door key codes. I had the stand-alone building with mushrooms painted on the side. It was incredibly good value and extremely clean, with no bugs or mess and great lighting. There are lots of switches and lamps, so the bright light in a room may not be controlled by the first switch you see. I was a bit cold and couldn’t figure out how to turn up the bedroom heat, though I probably didn’t try hard enough. The real blankets on the bed kept me warm enough. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Lovely place, and such a great price!

We had a cozy, comfortable overnight stay, and everything in the room worked well. It had a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge and microwave. The restroom was on the small side, but that wasn’t a problem for one night. The price was reasonable, and even though we arrived quite late, check-in was easy. We woke up to a stunning morning view. It’s peaceful, with the river just across the street. We didn’t get to interact with anyone, but the stay was great.
