The price felt fair for what we got, and the location is a big plus: you can get to the river and walk around town. We stayed in winter, and the heater worked great. The room could use a deep clean and some repair or refinishing in a few areas. I found myself daydreaming about owning the place and remodeling that room. Of course, if it were remodeled, it would probably cost more, and I might end up somewhere else with different complaints.

On my first visit to Kernville from Bakersfield, John and Annette were both really nice and made sure we were looked after. The country setting and waterfall on the river were so soothing. This place is a gem, and I'll be back soon!

This is our regular spot when we stay in Kernville. The rooms are cozy, the staff are always friendly, and the river is right next door. I'll keep choosing this place.

It's an old place, though you could call it rustic. The hot water made a terrible water hammer noise, and I wasn't happy when they canceled our Expedia reservation and told us to book directly with them. I'm sure it was to save the commission. On the plus side, they're dog friendly, right on the river, and an easy walk from downtown. We'll try somewhere else next time we're passing through Kernville.

The owner and staff were very hospitable, and there's a private lounge area by the river along with a few barbecues for guests outside. We had a great stay and would recommend it to friends and family. We'll come back in the future.
