Best Western Plus Hibiscus Mtl

We’d stay here again without hesitation. The Best Western Hibiscus is a little farther from Duval St. than some places, which also made it quieter. Beaches on the island’s south side are convenient to reach, and several small restaurants and a grocery store are an easy walk away. For January, the price seemed like a decent value compared with other nearby options, though it was still a bit pricey. The outdoor pool was clean, but the water ran cool; there were plenty of tables and chairs around it. Breakfast was included, basic but fine, and saved us time one morning. Will at the front desk was helpful with our questions. We rented an electric 'golf car' elsewhere, which saved a lot of walking and time during our short two-day stay.

Will, the hotel manager, made sure our group was looked after. He was very friendly and even arranged scooters at a great rate for our large party. We had our wedding in Key West and booked eight rooms. My family included seven kids, who enjoyed the pool and being close to one another’s rooms. We stayed in a queen suite and liked having a sitting area. The location was fantastic, just a couple of blocks from Duval Street, South beach, and good places to eat. Everyone had positive things to say about the rooms and the stay. Thanks to Will and the staff!

By chance, after watching reviews, we managed to book a room here for the Key West Runfest, January 15 to 18, where we registered for several events. The location worked well for everything. We had a 2 Queen Pool View room with breakfast included. There were lots of breakfast choices and it was delicious. The pool was great too. I swim laps, and while it’s doable to get some short-distance swimming in, it’s not a long swim.

The room was super clean and had a spa-like feel. I loved the soft towels, terrific bed, and wooden Key West-themed blinds. The landscaping was beautiful, and I even caught myself imagining living there full time. The location is close to the Duval Street area for a reasonable price, and our room was generous in size. After walking all day, the pool was perfect for a swim. Breakfast was a typical continental spread. One odd thing, the painting in our room bothered me because it seemed to be missing something. I nearly took it down to fix it. It didn’t really matter, though. I even tried to apply for a job there, but there were no handyman or cleaning jobs that included a room. Sigh.
