Douglas House - Adults Only

I’m back for a second year in this duplex apartment, so I clearly like it. It’s bright, airy, and clean, with off-street parking included in the rate, which is well worth having. There are two balconies, two toilets, and one bath. Duval Street is right nearby, but I didn’t hear it. I’d stay here again.

We had such a good time here and already plan to come back next year. We met lots of people around the pool and garden, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The rooms are thoughtfully put together, and the location is fantastic: easy to walk everywhere, with a Duval Loop stop just down the street. There’s no breakfast, but Cuban Coffee Queen is only steps away and has what you need. Try the Cuban flat bread with honey. This place has a real Key West feel. If you’re after a modernized resort style stay instead of an authentic Key West experience, Douglas House may not be your spot. The negative reviews here seem weird to me.

We found our home away from home in Key West. The room suited us perfectly, and it was clean, quiet, and had great air conditioning. Best of all, Duvall street is literally about 60 seconds away. What a great location.

The location was great, and our one-bed apartment was spacious, with a loft-style layout. But I couldn’t work out the TV remote. The receptionist said he’d come by, then never showed. I waited an hour, called back with no answer, and left a voicemail. The coffee cups were dirty. The daytime receptionist helped us book Martin’s, but we missed its happy hour from 4-5 pm. We would have gotten better deals by just walking in. We rely on local advice, and that didn’t work out for us.
